Make your own schedule

Last night, 7:22 PM. Just getting started.

Making your own schedule and working whenever and wherever you want is a dream for many who work in a structured corporate environment.

Tim Ferris wrote “The 4-Hour Work Week”.

 Automatic best seller.

Alluring.

Impractical.

Why?

If you ever try to start something, you’ll probably work 4-hours each day, before most people wake up.

Son, you’ve witnessed the effort, energy, and harvest from a person who can, and does, work whenever and wherever he wants.

Son, if your goal isn’t impossible, you’re not reaching high enough.

Transferable insights are a life hack

Turing a failure into a perfect score was inevitable. The missing ingredient the first time was preparation.

Transferable insights are a life hack.

No need to reinvent the tire (unless you’re with NASA). Actually, i can see Earth’s future tires not having air.

The principles you learn in one area of your life can serve all areas of your life.

Prioritizing your time, energy and motivation will work for anything you need or want to accomplish.

The long way is the short cut.

Personal leadership and the CEO of You, Inc, is the same concept said different ways.

Landscape leadership

Weeds are like trash at Disney, they don’t belong.

Leadership is like being a landscaper.

Weeds are a constant distraction to an artful landscaper.

Without consistent attention, weeds grow and multiply – overtaking areas where they don’t belong.

The key is consistent, small efforts to nip unwanted things in the bud.

During the most recent month i visited Glacier, no one provided consistent, small attention to the weeds.

The proliferation of the weeds was the first thing i noticed when i returned.

Yesterday i met with our landscaper and set clearer expectations.

It’s not a competition with others

From Apgar shoreline looking North.

It’s not a competition with others, it’s a competition with yourself.

Dream, create, inspire.

Launch, learn, revise.

Repeat.

Have fun.

No dip in the pool for a month

One of the favorite photos from the month of July in Glacier. Photo: Grinnell Glacier.

No dip in the pool for a month.

Multiple occasions dipping feet in ice-cold water for medicinal purposes.

Changing things changes things.

Going to Glacier to work this Summer is an example of over-focusing.

This opportunity may never appear again.

Seizing the Summer.
