Odds are low but not zero

Odds of a bear attack are low, but not zero. Remain alert.

Odds of a divorce are greater than 50%. Remain alert.

A Grizzly bear was 30’ away from the trail just minutes before we got there. The two hikers waited for us to catch up to them and we all walked out together.

The paw print was large.

We walked right past it.

A reminder that leadership involves risk and being ever vigilant for organizational (and personal) threats.

There is never any coasting up.

Son, keep moving forward.

Slow and steady wins the race.

Keep your emotions in check and wisely use what being outside has taught you about life.

If you can dream it

Mt. Oberlin summit a couple days ago.

If you can dream it, you can do it.  – Walt Disney

Makes sense.

Today’s group shot will replace the photo above.

Can’t wait.

Out the door at 5:15 AM.

Son, the day is won in the morning.

The two biggest leadership responsibilities

Leadership as a parent is the biggest responsibility you will ever have.

Children rarely listen yet they are constantly watching. Be an example, not a warning.

Mom says it’s time to move.

Watching and taking the cue.

Eat. Now. Ok.

Leadership as a parent is the biggest responsibility you will ever have.

The second biggest responsibility is personal leadership, as CEO of You, Inc.

Son, this is profoundly simple and simply profound.

Study and practice a diverse approach to personal leadership.

Curate the best and apply it as if your life depends on it.

Be a noticer

Lots of green.
So tiny.
Lots of rocks.
Lots of small colorful plants so tiny we rarely look.
Do you see it?
Can you find this one?

Be a noticer.

For your entire life.

Personal leadership 101.

Son, this is the essence of over-focusing.

Celebrate yourself

Hidden Lake trail was the backup plan.
After three weeks being closed for bear activity, the trail opened up just hours before i arrived.
Prolific.
Mt. Reynolds.

Celebrate yourself.

Be your own biggest cheerleader.

Have fun with this.

Life is the best party i’ve ever been invited to.

Son, as CEO of You, Inc, you have all the rights and privileges to do as you see fit.
