Remember, people hide their motives.

This is especially true in the workplace.

Why?

People are trying to survive.

Getting ahead of others professionally is a great survival tactic.

Promotions and other work advancements generally equal higher pay.

Higher pay brings more buying power.

More buying power helps you survive better.

This is a generalization, and decently accurate based on my lifetime of observation.

3 hells

The Chalet floor is approximately 1.5 billion years old. No heat, no AC, no electricity no wifi, no cell. No running water. There are propane ceiling lanterns.

3 hells.

In addition to the three speech objectives, i review the three hells every human in the room faces, including myself:

  1. The hell you’re going through right now that no one knows about
  2. The hell you just came out of that no one knew about
  3. The hell you’re about to go into that you don’t see coming, that no one will know about

i mention that everyone in the room is in at least one of these three hells, and some of us, myself included, is in more than one of them.
