Disney Jesus

Disney Jesus? No. Not even close.
Disney Jesus? Which one? Neither. Nice try.
Are you sure? Those eyes look heavenly.
Surely not the Disney Jesus.
Jesus loves the little children of the world.
Disney Jesus? Probably. i heard (s)he rides a bike.

Disney Jesus?

What?

Jesus roamed the earth with only the clothes on his back.

He possessed wisdom for all ages.

No books, no notes, no iPhone.

In a dream, i envision me being like a Disney Jesus – carrying nothing more than the clothes on my back and an iPhone.

Preaching the Gospel according to Walt.

And a spoonful of sugar helps the medicine go down.

Disney’s secret

Disney’s secret is illustrated here.
Disney’s secret is illustrated here too.

Disney’s secret?

Can you keep a secret?

Promise?

Okay.

Disney’s secret is to over focus on the same things that others under focus on or ignore. We have learned to be intentional where others are unintentional.

Please don’t tell anyone.

It’s a secret.

Note: Top photo shows three, not one, not two, wet paint signs. Vacationing Guests are incredibly distracted by all the stimulus and don’t always notice helpful things. Second photo shows peanut butter being spread on both bread slices – when jelly is used (instead of bananas), peanut butter keeps bread from getting soggy.

The key to making change that matters

All in means all in. Not being all in means exactly that, not all in. Obvious, challenging, and yet the key to it all.

What stifles making change that matters?

A busy schedule.

A lack of balance between the big categories.

Time and competing priorities create the illusion that organizational and personal vibrancy are impossible.

Balancing leaders, employees, customers, reputation, and improvement yields organizational vibrancy.

Balancing mind, body, spirit, work, and home facilitates personal vibrancy.

At the DNA level what makes change happen and last?

Commitment.

Anything less is not enough

Actual comment on emailed invoice.

Commitment means being all in.

Anything less is not enough.

If you are not all in, you are not all in.

You cannot be mostly all in.

Measure versus matter

Turned on Grammarly at the tail end of the tally period. For a whole week only 7 words were recorded. This result is better than 14% of other Grammarly users.

Not everything that can be measured matters.

Not everything that matters can be measured.

Because of my insider position, since 1999, in the improvement industry, it is easy to testify about the prevailing, perverse, and utterly misleading (read lying) information that gurus and wanna-be’s peddle to make a living.

Even at Disney Institute, the insider joke was and still is, “Never let a good story get in the way of the truth.”

By the way, i taught at Disney Institute from 1999-2014. That’s a heck of a run.

i made it, and continue to make it, my personal mission to never let a false or misleading story to ever be told. Ever. For any reason. Period.

Zealot?

Perhaps.

If the shoe fits.
