When I read this, I was reminded of a poster I once saw that was meant to be a parody of the inspirational/motivational posters out there. It had a picture of an eagle soars with the word, “Leaders,” as the title. Then in small print, it said, “Leaders are like eagles. We don’t have either of them here.”
I showed this to my leadership class I was teaching to drive home the same point you mentioned above…the seats are bare. Even though the poster was meant as a parody, the underlying truth is what makes the poster’s meaning, well, more meaningful.
