Humans are fearful creatures. Fear is a gift bestowed on us to help us survive.
Funny thing is though, Saber-Toothed Tigers are extinct, yet we live as if we might get eaten.
When we hear people complain about their boss, the Government, their colleagues, you know what that person is really complaining about?
They are really complaining about their own insecurities to take initiative and thrive, instead of simply surviving.
As people read this, a third will embrace it, a third will not care, and a third think I’m an idiot.
Life goes on.
Yes.
I think…
Ugh…I hope I only fall into that first third…
Fall where you are comfortable and feel you deserve. 🙂
It’s much more comfortable to just keep whining. Being comfortable means I’m doing the right thing, right?
Is there a 4th option?
Sally, yes. Head in the sand. 🙂
Craig, no. Being comfortable, to me, is you are not doing what needs to be done. Not saying you can’t relax and enjoy things – in fact, that’s at the heart of why we work so hard – yet we must always be looking over our shoulder, working hard to survive well.
We keep looking over our shoulder because we hear footsteps. It’s either the competition, or our fears in the form of that sabre-tooth tiger. Either way, it’s just an excuse to throw us of our focus. The right amount of fear can be our friend.
David, agreed. Fear helps us survive.
Fear doesn’t necessarily lead to thriving though.
Personally, I’d rather having a thriving garden – rather than one infested with insects, planted in poor soil, and in the wrong location (too much shade or too much sun, too much or too little water).
Mid Life Celebration is the antithesis of midlife crisis.
Rethink. Reprioritize. Recommit.
