Leadership And Birthday Presents

So Simple, Even A 10-Year Old...
So Simple, Even A 10-Year Old...

Excellent Leadership requires a few basic fundamentals:

  • A clear, concise and compelling vision
  • A balanced approach
  • Simple, key, repeatable messages
  • Crystal clear expectations
  • Accountability
  • Continuous improvement
  • Fun

Last night we gave our son “his best birthday present ever”.

He said, “In your hand or in your pocket”.

Cheryl said, “Where did you learn that?”

“From the best”, he said.

Long before yesterday, I’ve been preaching, “In your hand or in your pocket”.

You lose an iPhone, and you become very unhappy, very fast.

You dilute or lose your leadership vision and, well, you get the picture.

Thoughtful, and concise list..will be sharing at power-meetings with department….even though our “production” is students and our commoditiy is education. “Paycheck” vs. “Program” was the term comparison coined by my late educational colleague…which seems to niche nicely with business model described.
Leadership vs. ” only the beating of shoe leather on pavement”

Heidi, I’m on a personal mission to simplify life’s key message points so that Chapin will know what critical and what’s chaff. Life is really pretty simple.
Simple, yes.
Easy, no.
Of course the Bible has all we need, yet I’m interested in summarizing the 1,300 pages so it’ll fit on a recipe card. 🙂
