.think .differently

Disney Keynote Speakers
A fellow TEDx AUK Speaker captured this. Technically, i/we should be on the red dot. An audience volunteer played the part of a Disney Guest.

.think .differently

The TED red dot is where speakers stand when they delver their idea.

Four distinct times i was not on the red dot, for an extended couple of minutes.

  • The Teddy Bear story
  • The “WOW” flip chart
  • The Goofy Hat Dad
  • The sailing flip chart ending

.think .differently means nothing without action.

It’s different yet the same

It’s different yet the same.

Everything in Kuwait is different, yet everything is the same.

The more i travel internationally, the more obvious it becomes (to me) that people are the same everywhere.

It has never been more pronounced than on this current trip.

It’s inspiring.

Doing remarkable work isn’t for the timid

packing light
Only these items, plus what i wear on the plane, for an 11-night trip to Glacier National Park. Plus, temps will be near freezing most mornings. Remarkable.

Remarkable work is normally done by people who .think .differently about their priorities.

There are exceptions, but as it implies, exceptions are rare. People win the lottery jackpot, but they are the exceptions.

How we falsely judge ourselves

Disney Podcast jeff noel
The partnership with Jody Maberry involves the transferability of using .think .differently in everything we do.

Picture a 17-year Disney Resort Operations Leadership veteran starting a new career as an official Keynote Speaker for Disney Institute.

Talk about a career change.

And the new speaker never carried a desire to become a public speaker.

Ever.

Pause and contemplate this…

We judge ourselves on our intentions, others judge us on our behaviors.

It was a personal mission to make the above statement my thesis for Disney’s Approach to Leadership Excellence.

i learned, embraced, and taught this Disney Leadership business insight my entire Disney Institute career from 1999 – 2014.

Note: When i began teaching the four-day open-enrollment classes at Walt Disney World in 1999, i began asking questions i thought everyone should have a ready answer to, but no one did.

Astonished, yet optimistic, i forged my own hypothesis based on 15+ years in Disney front-line and front-line leadership roles.

It was the catalyst for my life mantra:

.think .differently

Been a vivid dreamer since birth

Disney speaker’s iPad
Already finding the keyboard to be a challenge. Practice was invented for situations like this.
Me:
.think .differently
What Seth is talking about is the path i find crowded. He and i (possibly you) don’t like crowded paths – in business nor in GNP.

Jody:

Jody:
I don’t hear many people say “ain’t” anymore. Perhaps I ain’t hanging out with the right people.

My 8th-grade teacher told me ain’t is not a word and I should not say it. Who says she gets to make the rules?
