My email reply yesterday morning

Great, authentic post Betsy.

The past few years i felt something but couldn’t put my finger on it. Your website is stunning and professional. And you offer a number of complimentary assets.

Social media, and all the recommended pieces (email subscription, blog, giveaways, videos, webinars, etc)…when everyone is focused on the same recipe, it creates a sea of “pick-me” look-a-likes (in my opinion).

So how does a customer decide?

What makes them pause, and say, “This is different. Not sure i like it, but let me have a closer look.”

Is it intrigue that is the key?

Is it boldness to not follow conventional wisdom?

Anyway, i enjoyed your transparency. i hope something in this email is helpful.

Peace and blessings.

Brand explained clearly, concisely, and compellingly

Brand differentiation as a person
Brand is the same thing as reputation. The last two comments happened spontaneously.

Brand explained clearly, concisely, and compellingly:

Brand and reputation are the same thing.

The first thing others think of when they hear or see your name.

Want a perfect example of glorious risk taking?

Two days ago. i love that the photo is not “picture perfect”.

If you click on the Music video link, you may find inspiration for why risk taking is so important. For starters, you may reach new clients, and you may create a core emotional connection with your existing clients. This could also backfire too. That’s why inspiration is critical.

“Gateway to the Plains” Music Video Glorieta Pass, a natural corridor between the mountains and plains, is largely responsible for the unique diversity of cultures and historical events represented at Pecos National Historical Park. Ancient trade routes, the Santa Fe Trail, a railroad, Route 66, and Interstate 25 have all followed a similar path through this gateway in northern New Mexico. #RappingRanger (Background track “Black Spotlight” by Tia Cooper) Posted by Pecos National Historical Park on Monday, December 14, 2015

Taking risks is risky. So is playing it safe.

Time to start thinking the same way about teams

(photo: the way the world works is changing fast… embrace it… what other choice is there?)

The work team is trying to give something important a more meaningful name. No harm no foul.

But there’s a challenge here.

A new name isn’t the solution to the change they are trying to solve for.

Over time the team has gone from a traditional physical location with offices and cubes to half the old way and half the new virtual work from home way.

The virtual workforce isn’t a different group of people who do different things. They simply sit somewhere different.

The solution is in changing the way they operate.

Virtual is the new normal.

But they are trying to maintain stability by coming up with a clever name for the ‘distance’ team. Trying (innocently and ignorantly) to bypass the reality of a sea change.

It’s similar to the revelation of Baby Boomers calling the fast pace of change, technology.

Watching a 13 year old grow up, the revelation is that he doesn’t think of it as technology and never has. To him, it just ‘is’.

Time to start thinking the same way about teams.

Thinking differently, and inspiring others to, is Nuwanda’s full time job

inspiring quote
Thinking differently, and inspiring others to, is a full time job for some

Resurrecting Nuwanda?

She (or he) works on a great, high performing team.

A few key metrics indicate effectiveness at what the team does.

Nuwanda, on the customer service metric, delivers double-digit increases in the overall team average score.

Over 60% higher in one category.

Increases of 30, 40, and 50% in every other category except one, in which the increase is a mere 11%.

Thinking differently remains a mere theory for most.

Yet changes everything for those that lead with it.
