Two Days Ago

What Are the Odds?
What Are the Odds?

Two days ago you saw the post about someone I know who got a separation package.

He saw it coming and started a business in advance of the separation.

Remember?

What I didn’t mention then, but must now, his chances for survival after five years are as good as all the others starting a business.

Entrepreneurial people have to work very, very hard.  Why?  Because if they fail…

But if they succeed, they have amazing opportunities.

But no one ever talks openly about the odds.  You know why?

You do know the odds right?

Better and Happier

It's Your Choice
It's Your Choice

“Let no one ever come to you without leaving better and happier.”unknown

That’s all there is to say today.

Not really. But I’m gonna zip it and hopefully the quote will plant a seed of greatness in your soul and your work this coming year – it’s only two days away.

Wishing You The Best

We Can Do Great Things
We Can Do Great Things

It is helpful to remember the big picture, isn’t it?

Do you have creative and effective ways to remember the big picture?  I mean everyday. Do you?

Currently, writing five daily blogs has helped me make a dramatic leap in the way I perceive excellence and act on excellence.

The dramatic leap didn’t happen a year ago when I was writing single digit monthly blog posts – November 2008.

It didn’t happen when I wrote nearly 20 monthly blog posts – December 2008.

And it didn’t happen in the first two months of this year, when I wrote even fewer.

But something magical happened in March, ten months ago.

I’ll tell you all about it tomorrow.  Wishing you the best day of your life -today!  Carpe diem.

Many years ago, I found myself driving Ken Blanchard to the airport. We had 30 minutes to talk.  And I was smart enough, even back then, to do most of the listening.  One of the things that has stayed with me all these years was something very simple that Ken Blanchard said:

“You can watch the parade.  You can march in the parade.  Or, you can lead the parade”.

I think about hometown Halloween parades this time of year, with High School Marching Bands and Drum & Bugle Corps.  Do you?  Can you picture watching a home town parade?  Ever march in one?  Ever lead one?

Entrepreneurs change things.  And they are leaders.  Remember Rosa Parks.  I’d like to testify that Rosa Parks was an entrepreneur.   “I rest my case, your honor”.

How big are your dreams?  How much courage (guts) do you possess?  What are you gonna do today?
