To fame or not to fame

To fame or not to fame.

The speaker agent posted the question on a LinkedIn thread. See photo above.

And i ask the question because occasionally i wrestle with how well known do i want to be known, because becoming well known is marketing 101.

When a business is a one person show it’s really important that the intended and potential audience is clear about who the person is and what they do and how that person can help them and their business.

Try to imagine owning a business where you are the central figure for your product and your service. Then think about world-class branding and marketing, and the dilemma should become obvious.

Few people are ever famous before they become famous

Few people are ever famous before they become famous.

When a famous person starts out, they aren’t famous.

Safe to say that the overwhelming majority of famous people never intended to be.

Mostly, the famous person was just some person who was looking for work.

Rent, food, clothes. The basics.

But something happens on their journey.

If we could only bottle it and sell it.

What is a typical day like for an artist? Depends.

The Palace, Fargo Dome, Barclays Center, Super Dome, Amway Center.

Famous venues like these are were most of us go as spectators.

Today, the fifth one is added to a growing list of venues where I have not been a spectator.
