If you are afraid to fail, you’ve failed

Minutes ago this came in from Cristina.

If you’re afraid to fail, you can’t be creative.

For the first time ever i created a Twitter hashtag as a repository for a Disney Keynote speech…#jeffnoelMadrid

Will it benefit the attendees after the speech?

We shall see.

Son, spending 82 days out of 115 Summer days in Glacier National Park this year may be a mistake (failure).

We shall see.

Change isn’t hard at first

Verizon monthly plans
What would happen if i tried Verizon?

Change isn’t hard at first, specifically in our youth. Why? Because children are so experimental, so untethered with conformity, so excited about possibility.

Children dream wide open.

No filters.

There’s next to nothing to lose.

And then something happens.

We grow up and learn about fear, risk-taking, and status quo.

Thank goodness for risks and failures

Disney's Wilderness Lodge light pole
Can you tell where this Walt Disney World location is just from the light pole design?

Thank goodness for risks and failures.

What?

Thank goodness for risks and failures.

Without them…

We would never learn to walk.

We’d never improve.

We’d never come alive.

We’d never know fear.

We’d never know joy.

And we’d never know freedom.

Better late than never

Disney Springs
i remember when Disney Springs was vacant land, next to Disney Village Marketplace (DVM). My wife started as a Merchandise Hostess at DVM.

Better late than never.

You know why i always worked for a big company?

Because it’s all i knew.

It’s what literally all my friends did or still do.

And i believe that the experience gained was indispensable, i also believe i could have been more entrepreneurial working in a big organization.

Except for one thing holding me people back.

Fear.

Fear of getting fired.

Fear from taking risks that others were also afraid of taking.

At this point in my life, the thought of not being my own boss is nauseating.

Will you regret this failure?

From an App last night. Benchmarking their pitch and seeing if it lives up to the hype.

We fear failure.

So we don’t take the risk.

Ask yourself, “Will i regret this if it fails?”

The instinctive mind is a sacred gift and the rational mind is a faithful servant. We have created a society that honors the servant and has forgotten the gift. – Albert Einstein
