Dear Son

Learning to lead yourself is often under-focused on at home

Cross Country warmup
Warming up, as a team – both high school and middle school.

Learning to lead yourself is often under-focused on at home. i think older parents are better positioned to over-focus on this. Older parents are often grandparent age, yet have full-on responsibility for a middle schooler or high schooler.

On April Fool’s Day 2009, jeff noel began writing five daily, differently-themed blogs (on five different sites). It was to be a 100-day self-imposed “writer’s bootcamp”, in preparation for writing his first book. He hasn’t missed a single day since.

Jungle Skipper Canteen
“World Famous Jungle Cruise” in blurry small print under the larger Skipper Canteen sign.

Yesterday Jody Maberry had me on his Podcast as a Guest.

We recorded 30 minutes of conversation.

It debuts in one week on March 22, 2016.

i’ve never done a Podcast before and didn’t know what we were going to talk about.

Jody simply asked questions about Disney and i answered.

The main thing i’ll be listening for

distracted driving
What is invisible in this photo is that she was doing this while waiting to turn left at a busy intersection, while the light was green.

The Podcast with Jody Maberry was fun. i was honored to be one of his first Guests.

It was a first for me.

None of his recordings have gone live yet, so once he has his digital grand opening, there will be a few podcasts before mine.

You know what i can’t wait to listen for?

Blind spots.

Why?

It’s one of the quickest routes to improvement.

At home and at work…

Fix the blind spots.

Could This Change Your Life?

Don’t hold your breath

Lee Cockerell Disney Executive Speaker
Even from the back of the room, Lee Cockerell reminds you of Walt Disney.

The first Mid Life Celebration, LLC keynote speaking check should arrive today. The client had wanted Lee Cockerell, but he wasn’t available. Guess who Lee’s first choice was to recommend?

What is invisible is that Mid Life Celebration actually went first in generously recommending. A couple months before retiring, a Canadian company called Mid Life Celebration to see about a speaking opportunity.

Because the date was before official retirement, i declined. Naturally, i gave my highest recommendation to contact Lee.
