So, If Obama Has a Blog….

Did you know that President Obama, and The White House, have a blog?

Seriously.

So what does that mean?

Well, to me, it means that blogging, Facebook, etc., are more common and socially acceptable than most realize.

Then, what does that mean?

I think it means that it’s also good, even critical, for business.

What I mean by that is this:  “If I have to explain the business case for blogs and other social business networking, than you have some catching up to do“.

Seriously.  Get on the bus, or get left behind.  Or at the very least, you’ll be playing catch up.

This is simply a personal opinion.  One that’s as simple as suggesting that exercising several days a week is good for our overall personal health.  That doesn’t need any explaining either, does it?

Live from New York, It’s….

…. not Saturday Night Live!  Used to watch that show while attending College, when John Belushi, Dan Aykroyd, Jane Curtin, Gilda Radnor, Chevy Chase, Eddie Murphy, Bill Murray, and others were making a name for themselves.

I digress.

I’m visiting New York, and the hotel is just a few blocks from Niagara Falls.

I walked to the Falls late yesterday.  It was a crisp 60 degrees.  Spring buds on the trees and tulips a day or two away from blooming.

The renewal of, and long awaited, springtime.

And the relentless, timeless, and enormous flow of water.

It was humbling to stand in it’s presence.

Make it a great, springtime day of renewal. Because if you don’t, who will? If not today, then when?

jungle jeff Road Trip?

jungle jeff road trip?

Yes.  Where?

Niagara Falls Conference Center.

I travel a fair amount, as a professional speaker and as Family man.

There’s never enough time in my life to do all the things I want, or need, to do.  Therefore, it’s imperative that I prioritize.  Otherwise, I may accomplish something that doesn’t matter, or worse yet, not do something that really does.

Top 10 List?

Top Ten List?

I mentioned on my LinkedIn profile a week or so ago that I’d reveal the unacknowledged, biggest fear humans have.  And by the way, it’s simply my opinion – based on 50 years of dreaming, doing and teaching.

Still wanna know what it is?   Is the truth something we should fear?

It’s OK to be afraid.  Fear is a gift to help humans survive.   It can also paralyze us, imposing the opposite effect, and destroy our potential.

Drum roll please…………………………………..

And the number one, (and invisible), human fear of all time?

The Fear of Living!

When this was revealed to me, I discounted it.  Seriously.   I denied that I was living my life “in fear” of living.

I’ll bet a dollar that many who read this will immediately dismiss the notion.   This is exactly why I call it invisible, or unacknowledged.

That’s what I think, which actually means nothing to anyone really.   I challenge you to make up your own mind.

Here’s what I ask myself every moment of every day:  “Am I living as if I want to leave a legacy for my organization“?

The challenge at work and at home, is to figure out how to live without regret.  Not doing it, is what really scares me.  Carpe diem, jungle jeff 🙂
