Things you are supposed to do

Photo was randomly discovered while searching from 75k photos on iPhone camera roll. It’s the perfect image for today’s subconscious thesis.

Things you are supposed to do:

  1. Start a blog.
  2. Have a sales funnel.
  3. Have an email collection strategy.
  4. Have a You Tube channel.
  5. Allow and promote social sharing (“Like & Subscribe”).
  6. Create a mastermind group(s).
  7. Reply to LinkedIn (LI) comments.
  8. Leave comments on LI thought-leader updates (to look smart/be seen).
  9. Encourage (game) follower engagement with questions and polls.
  10. Follow the tried and true paths the gurus show you.
  11. Be great at sales hype and hustle.
  12. Compete on price.

One out of 12 ain’t bad.

Hire for technical skills or for relationship skills?

Airplane wind seat
The boy exclaimed as we became airborne, “Goodbye Florida. See you soon Florida.”

Leadership is remarkably easy and insanely challenging.

It really depends on your audience, and what their motives are and how interactions with you help or hinder their motives.

The little boy and his Mom were incredibly grateful that i traded seats so the boy could see out the window. i made their day with a simple act of kindness.

Conversely, a key contract employee i’m working with thinks i’m disorganized and slow. And interestingly enough, i think he could be milking the system.

It’s eating away at us. i’ve began the resolution a week ago by calling a face-to-face meeting and airing (awkwardly) my concerns. Still waiting for deliverables, yet remaining hopeful.

In my wildest dreams, i pray we both couldn’t be farther from the truth.

On April Fool’s Day 2009, jeff noel began writing five daily, differently-themed blogs (on five different sites). It was to be a 100-day self-imposed “writer’s bootcamp”, in preparation for writing his first book. He hasn’t missed a single day since.

Ready to walk away?

Ready to walk away?

Yes.

Told the CEO last Friday that i’ve grown weary in waiting because the waiting translates into a lack of commitment.

It’s been 19 months since we met.

If this is what it’s like when we don’t have a contract, what will it be like when (if) we do?

i will let the words come to me without worrying

Virtue. Honesty. Integrity. Build your reputation on rock.

i will let the words come to me without worrying.

When you live a life that centers on Jesus, you are both defendant and prosecutor.

Because humans are perfectly imperfect, most Christians appear as hypocrites.

Humans are driven to survive, yet some break free from the chains of temptation, addiction, and lies that often get justified in order to “survive”.

These daring souls live for truth, and nothing will stop them from attaining their goal.

They will falter, but they will also transform.

David versus Goliath.

Rely on others to inspire you, or inspire yourself.

It’s you against your world. It’s me against mine.

All i have today is a sling and a stone (and an iPhone).

My conscious was bothering me

You can reach a point in life that even the smallest miscommunication bothers you.

Purchased a new MacBook four days ago, and yesterday i took it back, unopened.

Bought it utilizing the back-to-school tax free incentive.

Went to purchase our third 11-inch MacBook Air, this one for Chapin as he enters High School.

Bought a 12-inch MacBook (not an “Air”) that is smaller, lighter, and has a bigger screen.

Since it’s a new Apple product, the temptation to own it tugged on my heart.

So i took it back explaining that it won’t be going to our Son and i’d like to pay the tax that we saved under the back-to-school premise.

Apple said either way it was legit and not to worry about it.

There is something about a 100% clear conscience that is priceless.
