Hated to leave

empty grocery shelves
Empty grocery store shelves at Publix, the store one mile from home.
Empty grocery store shelves
Empty grocery store shelves at Winn Dixie on the way home from Apple Store. Just needed butter.
Easter candy
Plenty of marshmallow Peeps though.

Hated to leave.

Used to respond with the above statement when asked, “How was your day at work?”

Look at our world now with Covid-19.

Hating to leave work now takes on a whole new meaning.

Perhaps it will create a new generation of, “Hated to go back.”

Or, “I love working from home.”

PS. Missed having Magic Kingdom fireworks last night. First time in three decades. Eerie.

Do Not Pass Go

Covid19

Creativity Time magazine
Creativity (the generation of ideas) is worthless without the cultural wherewithal to implement positive change (innovation).

Covid19.

What will happen to the world economy with the shut down of large percentages of businesses?

Creativity and innovation is critical not only for the small, medium and large challenges you see coming, but also the ones you never see coming.

Having a rain day fund is great business (and personal) acumen.

Baby steps don’t work?

Mickey’s had the ride of a lifetime too.
Steve Jobs welcoming Bob Iger to the stage at Steve’s Apple Keynote, announcing the Pixar sale to Disney.
Bob’s masterful acquisitions.

Bob Iger said, “In today’s world, baby steps don’t work”.

This ABC interview with Bob Iger is worth the five minutes.

Professing, “The long way is the short cut”, i believe baby steps are what lead you to bold steps.

It’s the old adage, there’s no such thing as an overnight success.

Listen to Walt Disney’s words about technology

There’s a (not too) “hidden” Walt in the background.

Listen to Walt Disney’s words about technology…

Listening to Walt, the more things change, the more they stay the same.

Technology has always existed.

What changes is our understanding of what customer’s need and want from our Company and our Company’s collective ability to find any means (often through, but not limited to, technology) to exceed the expectations.

If Disney Ran Your Life

We take a lot for granted at Disney

We take a lot for granted at Disney. Our attention to details astonishes outsiders. For us though, it’s no big deal.

To consider skimping on details isn’t in our DNA.

Obviously, this cultural habit has evolved, and continues to evolve, over the decades.

So yeah, a neat article about not having mirrors over the Theme Park bathroom sinks seems brilliant to outsiders, we’ve long ago moved past that innovation and on to the next impossible challenge desperately needing a simple, low-cost, scalable solution.
