Day 8 CCL, work

4-second video: Not gonna lie, there were so many of them (scattered about) that it was a bit spooky with the weather.
Evan was (appropriately) enthralled with the wildlife. Had to be a dozen Rams across this particular 800-meter trail section.
21-second video: Just capturing a small taste of the cloud’s speed. Easier to do as we descended back to the car.
Apple Watch
We began at 7:10 AM and returned at 12:10 PM. Five hours, half of which was spent on the summit.

Foliage Bend as we’ve come to nick-name it is far from putting on it’s annual, spectacular show. For late September, we are perplexed. But trust that Nature knows what it’s doing.

Nature always, brilliantly, knows what it’s doing.

Juxtapositions are fun, and inspiring.

Disney culture taught me how to perform like every day is Super Bowl Sunday. And that taught me how to do it in my own life.

So what?

Here’s what…

If you ever think about your role as CEO of You, Inc, then this post’s reminder-gift to you is the (common-sense) mindset you must bring to your personal (and professional) life.

Habits are what we think and do, without thinking.

Every CEO is in charge of architecting organizational vibrancy.

When i started running my life like a business, everything changed.

.think .differently

Ps. If your goal isn’t impossible, you’re not reaching high enough.

Day 7 CCL, work

Trailhead sign
The Best time to plan the best hikes is long before you arrive at the trailhead.
12-second video: Polebridge Merchantile’s ‘backyard’. Stopped in on our return from Bowman Lake. We still have 25 miles of mostly unpaved road to get back to our cabin.

Over-focus on everything.

Even hiking trails.

Maybe even a year or two in advance.

And perhaps consider doing reconnaissance on appropriate trails, for appropriate reasons.

We opted to save this leg of our hike for another time.

i over-focus on questions, paradox, and common sense.

Those three offer the opportunity to think differently, see differently, and do differently.

Different is often transformationally better.

Day 5 CCL, work

mountains
One of my favorite hikes.

Great leadership is how people survive.

Poor leadership is how people die.

Everyone knows this.

Extraordinary leadership is how people thrive.

As CEO of You, Inc, everything is your responsibility.

Rock on.

Day 4 CCL, work

mountains
Unaltered. Un-enhanced. Real life in real time. Just past Wild Goose Island. We stopped and looked where we had just come from.
Pixar social media post
Less than a week from now, we can watch this in our cabin. Or we can wait until we return home to Walt Disney World.

Personal leadership is doing what you want to do, when you want to do it.

Growth is mastering the habits.

Wisdom is discerning the most vibrant habits.

It ain’t rocket surgery.

You’re welcome.

Rock on!
