Organize to maximize your creativity

If Disney Ran Your Life podcast ideas
If Disney Ran Your Life podcast ideas for today’s recording session with Jody Maberry.

Organize to maximize your creativity.

Today’s If Disney Ran Your Life podcast episode recordings are:

  1. Planning
  2. Over-focus

These are similar yet different enough to be two separate episodes. You can plan to over-focus. You can over-focus on your planning.

But it is difficult to plan well if you don’t over-focus; learning to be intentionally over-focused on the same things you used to (unintentionally) under-focus on or ignore.

We are not born organized. We learn (or don’t learn) to be organized. Planning and organized are synonymous.

Leadership is about seeing a future that’s not only better…

Logan Pass in snow
We left (Sept 29) just before conditions made visiting Logan Pass unsafe.

Leadership is about seeing a future that’s not only better than now but much better than now.

Have you planned for your death and all that needs to be done before, during, and after you die?

If you say, “Yes”, you are a leader.

If you say, “No”, you may still be a leader, yet you are neglecting one of your biggest responsibilities.

There’s a video to inspire a catalytic moment to “go” at the HQ blog (link below)…

Notes to myself

inspiring sayings
Upper left hand-written note: Over-estimate short-term, under-estimate long term.

Notes to myself…

We over-estimate the short run and under-estimate the long run.

The long way is the short-cut.

Simply decide to begin and go slowly.

Your progress over time will astound you.

And if you don’t begin, your lack of progress will bury you.

  • 8:30am – Gold’s Gym core & strength workout
  • 9:30am – drive home, pickup office supplies on the way
  • 10:15am – dip in the pool
  • 10:25am – brunch
  • 11:00am – read, email, social media, write, work
  • 1:30pm – drive to physical therapist for evaluation
  • 3:15pm – client call to Hawai’i
  • 4:15pm – pickup son at school

The only audible for the day was picking up the frozen pizza.

Not everyday is this structured. But everyday is structured with a plan determined the night before.

We plan for simple things to always go smoothly

No glitch in the GPS. Was in a boat enjoying the Seven Seas Lagoon

Am humbled by how long it takes to get things done. And humbled also by the things that should happen in a snap that often get glitchy when we can least afford them to. We plan for simple things to always go smoothly.

Was reminded for the past 15 minutes how untrue that is.
