The beauty in writing and talking about your priorities

Yes, please, at my convenience, and from my phone. (but your limitations won’t allow me to.)

Yes, please. (but instead, it requires about an hour to drive to and from your closest branch to do what the app won’t permit)

The podcast i did two days ago was only the fourth ever, and the first time with someone other than Jody Maberry.

It was also the first, by design, where i didn’t talk specifically about Disney.

What i’m reflecting on right now is how long today’s posts are and how i don’t want to do that here or at the next blog.

Today’s insight?

Writing and talking about what’s important to you really forces you to become clear – and clarity is power.

It’s like a dinner party conversation. Two people are talking and your friend says, “Hey did you hear Bill has a blog?”.

“No, what’s it about?” the person responds.

If your friend gives a general answer, it won’t be very compelling to the new person.

If it’s specific, you have a chance. The topic will either resonate or it won’t. If it does, you may have found a fan for life.

Ok, back to my voice…

Too generic and your flavor sounds like plain vanilla. Vanilla isn’t inherently bad, but it’s available everywhere and everyone is selling it.

The right kind of specific and you have a flavor that sounds amazing to the right person.

Out of 100 people who know about your new flavor, if five are crazy about it (and 95 don’t care), you have something valuable.

The goal is the smallest viable audience.

If formulaic approaches work, why isn’t everyone successful?

absence of human diversity
Only two (woman in center and the balloon) look like they don’t fit the hiring and promotion mold. Habits and rituals in hiring and promoting also lead to habits and rituals for a tolerance of risk-taking and pushing boundaries. Photo: yesterday on social media.

If formulaic approaches work, why isn’t everyone successful?

There’s a decent chance by the time this goes live on January 21, 2019, i will have launched my Podcast, If Disney Ran Your Life.

Along with the Podcast will be the highly suggested option to join an email distribution list.

i have avoided this formulaic process like the plague.

Why?

Because it’s formulaic.

So please know, the goal for Jody Maberry and me is to create a hybrid formula.

Guess what day the jeff noel Disney podcast is debuting

wisdom
True for many (you?).
wisdom
True for everyone reading this.

Guess what day the jeff noel Disney podcast is debuting.

When we spoke on Friday (October 26), January 1st or thereabouts seemed doable.

Fingers crossed this morning (October 30) that in two months, we’ll have a gift and resource for just the right audience.

Who’s the audience?

  1. People who love Disney
  2. People who crave balance in their life
  3. People who know they must invest time, money, and effort into enhancing personal and organizational vibrancy.

So yeah, it may not work.

Yet it could be genius.

Nothing that represents a potential, previously not offered breakthrough ever comes with a guarantee.

The jeff noel Disney podcast is coming soon

Disney speaker jeff
For reference.

The jeff noel Disney podcast is coming soon.

Ordered the ATR-2100 foam cover.

The ideas from Church will help answer the three questions Jody asks in every “Welcome to the New Podcast” episode:

  1. Who is jeff?
  2. What does jeff do?
  3. What can people expect from the podcast?

We’ll record – and then air – the first three episodes on the same day.

Additional ideas, in the form of Disney stories, will round out the first 5-10 episodes.

The typical podcast has a lifespan of seven episodes, and then the organizers abandon it. Lee Cockerell and Jody just published Creating Disney Magic’s 208th episode.

Taking Jody’s advice and mapping out future content. This includes our format – do i want it to be pre-decided before recording, or will we record “on the fly”? i suspect it will be both but the ratio is unknown now.
