Blinding flash of the obvious

Mickey Mouse Hat smiley face on dinner table cloth. Selling is the transfer of enthusiasm.

It is challenging to admit, but certain parts of business don’t work the way you think they are supposed to work.

Most people or companies you hire don’t have one-tenth of the desire and motivation you have for your business.

The insight is simple: you most find a million ways to work around this little known fact of life.

Note: When i say little known, i mean harsh reality as an owner. This is where hiring right-fit talent for a purpose bigger than yourself becomes a blinding flash of the obvious.

Enjoy the process

Family Christmas
Life is a blur. We enjoyed the parts of Christmas Day yesterday that were not in focus.

Enjoy the process.

What?

Enjoy the process of dreaming, trying, struggling, progress, setbacks, victories, frustrations.

Why?

Becoming a better CEO of You, Inc is a process.

A lifelong, neverending process.

Enjoy it.

All of it.

Every day.

All day.

If formulaic approaches work, why isn’t everyone successful?

absence of human diversity
Only two (woman in center and the balloon) look like they don’t fit the hiring and promotion mold. Habits and rituals in hiring and promoting also lead to habits and rituals for a tolerance of risk-taking and pushing boundaries. Photo: yesterday on social media.

If formulaic approaches work, why isn’t everyone successful?

There’s a decent chance by the time this goes live on January 21, 2019, i will have launched my Podcast, If Disney Ran Your Life.

Along with the Podcast will be the highly suggested option to join an email distribution list.

i have avoided this formulaic process like the plague.

Why?

Because it’s formulaic.

So please know, the goal for Jody Maberry and me is to create a hybrid formula.

What do you notice and why?

bad show
First thought was, “Really?” Under the yellow sign is the same message.

hospital worker bad show
Kids and their devices these days. i never look for these things. They appear out of nowhere. He had been walking the entire length of the hall, which gave plenty of time to think about snapping a photo. The patient doesn’t know if he’s onstage or backstage – the Disney rule is – if you see Guests, you are onstage.

What do you notice and why?

My job requires me to observe and evaluate.

Constantly, and with great discernment.

That’s what i’m paid to do.

To notice things others can’t or won’t see.

So no, i’m not judging, i’m doing my job, whether i’m on the clock or not.

The first ten copies of Mid Life Celebration will be here any day

Astonishing quote on excuses
Few words have more truth than these. It feels great to overcome this.

The first ten copies will be here any day. The publisher and printer (two separate entities) are awaiting the green light from me Mid Life Celebration, LLC.

Then it should be two to three weeks for the bulk order to arrive in Orlando.

Meanwhile, Amazon and Barnes & Noble will have it available immediately.

The book announcement is going to surprise everyone.

Been a while since I’ve swallowed butterflies this big.
