Google your name recently?
What does it show?
Is it even important?
Depends, doesn’t it?
Was surprised to find this photo montage from a keynote earlier this year, after Googling something.
Heading to Chicago today to do work that matters tomorrow. It’s no different whether your a professional speaker for a world-class organization, or a single mother of three young children, working as a hotel housekeeper.
The reason we have our jobs is to make a contribution to society. Society pays us money in return. We use that money to survive. Even as Michelangelo painted, we should do our jobs.
Ever do something that started out small and insignificant, and it just grew and grew (mostly unnoticed) until one day, SHAZAAM!
March’s travel schedule as a Professional Speaker challenged me to find a temporary solution. How will I write 5 daily, differently-themed blogs while on the road and no guarantee of Internet access?
And for that matter, no assurance of free time to write…
Dear Son, you know that between your grandfather and your great grandfather, who both had factory jobs, and ran their own businesses on the side, they chose not to involve me, teach me, encourage me, nor help me think about running a business.
I don’t have any answers to this piece of history, and I believe they loved me very much, even if I never heard them say it. (I mean, what else am I supposed to think?)
You will reap what you sow, and more isn’t always better. Within these blogs is everything I know. And everything you’ll need to start your own business.
Passion. Bet you have a ton of passion.
Maybe you’re in a job where your passion thrives. Maybe you’re not.
Does passion make for a better worker?
Do you do your best work around something you’re passionate about?
How many leaders are in positions that got them a better title, a better paycheck, better meetings, and better perks, but took them further from their passion?
And then there are people who have found their passion, their dream job, but over the years they have allowed things beyond their control to poison themselves.
Imagine your own situation.
