Future TED Talk

Walt Disney quote on a conference room wall
Some things are obvious.

Let us check for grade accountability with five questions. Each question should be answered only from the leaders you personally know. Do not use historical figures or movie characters, or people your friends work for.

  1. Who is the most intentional leader you personally know who over-focuses on consistently demonstrating the best leadership behaviors?
  1. Who is the most intentional leader who over-focuses on operationalizing your employee culture through your organization’s heritage and traditions, traits and behaviors, language and symbols, and shared values?
  1. Who is the most intentional leader who over-focuses on continuously exceeding your customer’s expectations?
  1. Who is the most intentional leader who over-focuses on making their profession a remarkable art form?
  1. Who is the most intentional leader who over-focuses on continuously thinking inside the box?

Excuses trump passion

retired man and college student in Magic Kingdom
March 15, 2020 – the day Covid-19 indefinitely closed Walt Disney World. Ben visited Magic Kingdom one last time before heading home from his abruptly-ended College Program.

We are all born with a society-enhancing purpose. Most fail because excuses trump passion.

Can i please practice on you?

Disney Keynote Speakers
A fellow TEDx AUK Speaker captured this. Technically, i/we should be on the red dot. An audience volunteer played the part of a Disney Guest.

Discovered another email from the Summer as i deleted hundreds of emails in the sent folder and “hold for later” folder. In-box is at two emails, trash is always at zero…

_________, hope you’re having an awesome day. i’m practicing for a TEDx Talk in Kuwait in April and looking to get in front of as many diverse groups as possible.

Title: Why Going The Extra Mile Is A Flawed Concept, And What To Do Instead

Who: You and your teams

What: A 12-15 minute TEDx Talk “rehearsal”

Where: Orlando

When: Anytime between April 1-12

How: No AV & no setup required, groups from 4-100+

Why: In exchange for my practice(s), you/your team gets a (potential) life-altering mindset-change for serving others, at work AND at home.

Every day, do something that scares you, jeff 😃

Pack a few laughs

Yesterday after Mass.

i know you don’t have 17 minutes to watch this TEDx Talk. But your time crunch doesn’t stop me from posting the video (today, December 9) so i can watch it on February 9.

Note: Have watched it twice this week. It delighted and inspired me more than expected.

Another big part of my Next + is laughter.
