Ever heard of thinking inside the box?

Florida rocket launch
Florida rocket launches happen often enough that sometimes there’s no hype prompting you to mark it on your calendar.

Florida rocket launch
This Florida rocket launch from a two days ago caught us completely by surprise.

Just a small sample of what i continuously think about…

Did you know you can organize to maximize your organizational (and personal) creativity?

Ever heard of thinking inside the box?

Stumbled upon this Disney creativity and innovation keynote speech recap.

.see .differently & .think .differently

Florida insects
During yesterday’s run.

Closer inspection.

Florida insects
Fascinating. Almost ran by without noticing.

The “great depression of 2008-09” created an opportunity to .see .differently and .think .differently

Without the exceptionally uncomfortable Disney layoffs, i wouldn’t have felt so vulnerable – vulnerable to the point of revelation.

The revelation was simple, always have a plan b.

Always.

The time to “worry” is when you don’t need to.

Without the pressure of “have to”, you can really see and think clearly and rationally.

You can also think and see in a way that excites and scares you like never before.

My email reply yesterday morning

Disney conference speakers
An inside glimpse at my game plan. i map out timing down to the minute. The circles indicate a state change. Most slides have only a few words.

Great, authentic post Betsy.

The past few years i felt something but couldn’t put my finger on it. Your website is stunning and professional. And you offer a number of complimentary assets.

Social media, and all the recommended pieces (email subscription, blog, giveaways, videos, webinars, etc)…when everyone is focused on the same recipe, it creates a sea of “pick-me” look-a-likes (in my opinion).

So how does a customer decide?

What makes them pause, and say, “This is different. Not sure i like it, but let me have a closer look.”

Is it intrigue that is the key?

Is it boldness to not follow conventional wisdom?

Anyway, i enjoyed your transparency. i hope something in this email is helpful.

Peace and blessings.

Brand explained clearly, concisely, and compellingly

Brand differentiation as a person
Brand is the same thing as reputation. The last two comments happened spontaneously.

Brand explained clearly, concisely, and compellingly:

Brand and reputation are the same thing.

The first thing others think of when they hear or see your name.

To provoke thinking and facilitate discovery is to earn my keep

Many people believe a higher degree will lead to greater opportunity. Do the math. (photo: Last week while running in Allentown, PA)

This week will be interesting because today is the first work Monday after the long holiday break. Expecting to hear updates on several important business conversations that got placed on hold for the past 10 days.

Patience, confidence, and optimism are real things when it’s your business. Otherwise, they are merely theories we’ve studied.

This has me thinking about insights that can be gathered from observing where colleagues, who were receiving their company subsidized MBA’s, were seven years ago and where they are now.

No one liked my comments that MBA’s are generally a false hope and an insanely time and energy intensive commitment with literally zero ROI.

i say this with deep respect and admiration for every individual. i also say this because my primary function, and obligation, as a teacher is to provoke people to .think .differently
