Everyday provides special opportunities, if we give ourselves permission…

Today is just another calendar date. It will come and go like all the others.

We get to use our waking hours however we choose.

And that’s the part that either makes us or breaks us. As I head out the door, to give another speech this morning, my aim is nothing less than a standing ovation worthy presentation.

Just another day, to do work that matters…

Those Obnoxious Renegades

Failing is the easy part, which is why it happens too often…

The main reason the Herd hates the renegade is because the renegade challenges the socially acceptable habits (and limits) – in business and personal leadership.

The renegade doesn’t challenge to upset people. The renegade challenges because they see a better way – more effective and efficient, and a much better payoff.

How do I know? Surely you jest.

The Herd is abundant, renegades, few…

Do you have moments (for me it was yesterday) of consciousness where you see yourself from the outside looking in? And sort of ask a few obvious questions, like:

  • Who does this person think they are?
  • Why won’t this person change?
  • Why are they so hung up on ____ (fill in the blank)?

Game changers never fit in. And as the name implies, they change things. Maybe that’s why they frustrate the herd and inspire the minority.

“You’ve been thinking like an adult since you were a kid”, she said in response to a story I had shared from my youth.

Told her about wanting to be a Physical Education teacher to help make people healthier, and help make the world a better place. I was in 8th Grade.

So here we are 37 years later, back on the mission to help make the world a healthier place.
